Stonehouse Cellars | Wedding | Ashley + Mathieu

There are two major aspects of being a California wedding photographer that I absolutely love: The awesome relationships I develop with my clients, and being able to work in amazing locations. Ashley and Mathieu’s wedding day encompassed both of these aspects.

Ashley and Mathieu’s wedding was held at a winery tucked away in the foothills of Clear Lake, California called Bed and Barrel at Stonehouse Cellars. This hidden gem grows and makes their own wine, serves as a bed-and-breakfast, and has recently begun to host small weddings and events. It’s also one of Ashley and Mathieu’s favorite places to relax and get away from it all for a few days. From day one, they knew their wedding would be held at Stonehouse Cellars. Needless to say, they made their dreams come true!

In their words

What was your favorite part of the wedding?

My favorite part was getting ready/the anxious but excited feelings pre-wedding, and of course the ceremony. It was the moment that all of our hard work and planning came together and everything felt beautiful and calm as I walked down the aisle.

What was something quirky or crazy that happened on the wedding day?

I spilled red wine down the front of my dress. I had a pause of figuring out what to do, but decided to let it go and just keep dancing.

What was the most special moment of your wedding day?

The most special moment for me was the ceremony and saying our vows. Mathieu surprised me with his vows and it was so special seeing how emotional he got.

What do you look forward to most about being married?

look forward to soaking it all in. There was so much pressure and attention put towards the planning of this past weekend. Now I look forward to the small moments and enjoying each day together.

What were your 3 top priorities when you were first searching for a photographer?

Previous work/portfolio, reviews, and style.

Was finding & choosing a photographer easy? Why or why not?

It was easy for us. We had such a great time with you during our engagement and were blown away by your work with us. Since we already knew the work you did, it was easy to book you again for our wedding.

What were your first impressions of my photography/website?

I love your style, your work with light, and your website does a great job of showing how versatile your work is too.

What did you most value about what I offered?

I loved that our package included you all-day on-site. I also thought it was great that it came with 2 shooters. I felt like we didn’t miss anything.

What was the least important feature about the services I offered?

The engagement session and only because we already had the opportunity with you. I think all of your services and packages are excellent and the one we selected included everything we needed.

What questions or concerns did you have when deciding whether to book with me?

None really. I liked having the questionnaire to complete pre-wedding to make sure we got pictures with everyone we wanted.

If you had three words to describe your experience with Courtland Photography, what would they be?

Fun, beautiful, and memorable.

What is the most important thing people should know about working with me?

How much fun you are to work with! You also don’t mind running around or getting dirty so you can get a great shot. It was so fun to watch you work!

How likely are you to recommend Courtland Photography to others?

Very likely

Do you feel like you got your money’s worth?

Absolutely!

How would you rate your overall experience?

5/5

Why did you give that rating?

We had the best time with you and Roseanne pre-ceremony. You both were so kind too. And once everything kicked off, we could hardly notice you while we continued to enjoy our day.

Please share with me anything else you would like to include!

We had the best time and we can’t wait to see how everything turned out!
